The Light Bulb Will Come On
You hear people say that a light bulb went off in their heads. What that means is that all of a sudden something became clear to them. That’s kind of what happens sometimes when you try to think of a business that you can start and you think until you are blue in the face. Then suddenly, oh snap! That’s it! I got it! I know what I want to do. It all becomes crystal clear but you would never have gotten there without exploring ideas.
So What’s Your Idea for a Business?
If you don’t know, that’s fine. You can start by putting on that thinking cap. Start thinking about things that you really like or like to do. What are some of the things that you find interesting? Your business should be something that you feel like you can do for the rest of your life. I mean you love it so much that you want to do it all of the time. Kind of like if you love pizza so much that you want to eat it every day (much to Mom’s dismay).
Your idea for a business can revolve around a talent that you have or a certain skill. For example, if you like making pretty bracelets for yourself. Perhaps you can make lots of bracelets and sell them to other people.
Can you draw or paint? Do you love doing that? Well, there you have it. Perhaps you can create some art, build up your inventory and sell your creations at the Metro Birmingham Children’s Business Fair. I’m going to stop right here for today and what I want you to do, is spend some time thinking about what kind of business you can start based on things you like, love and interest you most. Once you have decided what your business will be, you’ll be ready for the next step.
