Our Response to COVID-19

We want to bring you up to speed on the following:  COVID-19, MBCBF Meet & Greet and April 18 Fair

COVID-19

First things first.  Above all things we care about your health and safety.  Our position at all times, regarding COVID-19, is to follow the lead, recommendations, and directives of the following respected authorities:  the Center for Disease Control (CDC), The World Health Organization (WHO), local authorities such as University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), and Jefferson County Health Department.  We consider these organizations the experts in situations involving COVID-19 as well as other other health risks.

March 21, 2020 Meet and Greet

The Jefferson County Health Department has recommended cancelling events planned for 500 or more and while our Meet and Greet attendance is far less than that, we have decided to hold a virtual Meet and Greet on March 21, 2020 at 1:00.  The original Meet and Greet was scheduled for 1:00 to 3:00pm.  We will go over everything in the virtual meeting that we had planned to go over at the live meeting.  However, the virtual meeting will probably last an hour or 1.5 hours.  If it runs over that time frame we are perfectly okay with that. We just want to make sure your questions are answered.

April 18, 2020 Children’s Business Fair

The YMCA has been directed to not hold any large events through March 31, 2020.  We have decided that date as our marker as well to reassess our plans.  In the meantime, our plan is to still hold the Children’s Buisness Fair at the YMCA on April 18, 2020 from 1:00 to 4:00.

We prey that everyone continue to be vigilant in the care and concern for yourselves and your family.  We pray that all will act with a measure of caution and it is further our position that acting cautiously is not the same as panicking.  We encourage everyone to err on the side of caution. But ultimately, do what you believe is best for your family and those that you come in contact with.

In the event we do have to cancel the April fair, we will still have the October fair and all current, registered participants will automatically be registered for the October 2020 fair.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
