Metro Birmingham Alabama Children’s Business Fair

Press Release

Location: Birmingham, AL

Fair Number Five and We’re Going Strong

Find out at the Metro Birmingham Children’s Business Fair, showcasing kids’ entrepreneurial genius!

On Saturday, April 18, 2020, Metro Birmingham Children’s Business Fair will host up to 50 young entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses at Downtown YMCA Youth Center.  There is a $22 application/registration per business but the event is FREE to attend and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC to come see, support and buy products and/or services from our young entrepreneurs.

Kids create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The children are responsible for the setup, sales, and interacting with customers, and any parent seen selling to the customer or promoting the child’s product will result in disqualification from the competition.

This event is sponsored by Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business, and the generous support of our donors and volunteers, who all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation.

Whether an entrepreneur is famous, like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey, or one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country, these entrepreneurs are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs, and serve their communities.

“Today’s youths are tomorrow’s business innovators and leaders. The Children’s Business Fair gives students the opportunity to spread their entrepreneurial wings and get a head start on promising business careers,” said Jeff Sandefer, founder of the Acton School of Business, one of the sponsors of the fair.

Prizes will be awarded based on the highest points earned for participating in events leading up to the fair.

Both adult sponsors and shockingly articulate kids are available for interviews on camera or off.

You can download and share flyer here and complete your child’s application here.  And by all means, please like and share our website and Facebook page your other spheres of influence.
